Sturgis is a city in Meade County, South Dakota. The Sturgis Motorcycle Museum & Hall of Fame nods to the city’s long-running Sturgis Motorcycle Rally and houses vintage motorbikes, plus memorabilia and photographs. Restaurants and saloons line Main Street in Sturgis, spilling over into the adjacent downtown core. Rising 1,253 feet above the surrounding plains six miles northeast of Sturgis, Bear Butte is a geological formation considered sacred by many Native American tribes. Sturgis is part of Meade School District and has 2,966 students in grades K-12.
